Panel Mounted Ball & Needle Valves

Panel mounted valves are designed to be fixed through the face of an instrument panel, gas rack or analyser enclosure. The valve body sits behind the panel, a threaded bonnet or panel nut clamps it to the sheet, and only the handle or knob is exposed at the front — giving operators a neat, labelled row of controls while the tubing stays behind the panel.

Kalpataru offers panel mount 3 way ball valves, 2 way ball valves and needle valves with 1/4" to 1" NPT / BSP ends or 1/8" OD to 1" OD double ferrule tube ends, machined from SS 304, SS 316 or SS 316L bar stock.

3 Way Ball Valve

Diverts flow from one common port to either of two outlets, or selects between two sources, with a quarter turn of the panel handle. Used for sample stream selection, calibration and vent switching.

Ball Valve

Two way on / off isolation with a floating ball and soft seats for a bubble-tight shut-off. The handle position shows open or closed status at a glance from the front of the panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a panel mounted valve installed?
Drill or punch the panel to the recommended hole size, remove the panel nut, pass the valve bonnet through the panel from the back, and refit and tighten the panel nut from the front. Fit the handle last, then connect the tubing or pipe behind the panel.
Should I choose a ball valve or a needle valve for my panel?
Choose a ball valve for fast quarter turn on / off isolation with a visible open / closed position. Choose a needle valve when you need fine flow adjustment, higher pressure capability or slow, controlled opening of a line.
What does a 3 way panel ball valve do?
It has one common port and two side ports. Turning the handle connects the common port to one side port or the other, so the same valve can switch a sample between two analysers, select a calibration gas, or divert flow to vent.
What maximum pressure can these valves handle?
Panel mounted valves are rated 2000 PSI or 6000 PSI at 100 °C depending on valve type and model. The rating reduces at higher temperatures and may be limited by the seat or packing material, so share your pressure and temperature for the right selection.
